Coffee Grounds Make the Best Natural Body Polish

When skin gets flaky in winter and summer, coffee grounds make the best natural body polish. Internally and externally, coffee, peppermint and cacoa are uplifting, invigorating, help to stimulate blood circulation, and tighten pores. These ingredients make a wonderful blend to use in the morning to help wake up the body and polish skin to a glow.

This recipe by our own Non Tox Mama was originally featured in The Wall Street Journal. It is simple to make with pantry staples and is so natural it’s edible 🙂

Ingredients you will need

1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup coffee grounds
1 Tbsp raw cacoa powder
1 Tbsp coconut oil
1/2 cup grapeseed or another light oil like olive or avocado
5 drops peppermint essential oil (optional)

Method

Mix all ingredients together and store in a jar with a tight fitting lid for up to 3 weeks. Use as a way to slough off dry skin on the body and even chapped lips. Apply to the body and gently massage the area. Rinse off when finished.

With the addition of grapeseed and coconut oils, your skin is left very soft ~ no need for additional moisturizer. Caution: the oils in this produce will make your tub very slippery after rinsing!
